Modular Components

MODULAR TECHNOLOGY

In addition to the high efficiency of their Electrostatic Precipitators, PPC has added the economic advantage of total modular design and construction. This permits significant reductions in cost through production line fabrication, less installation time and fewer engineering hours.

LOW POWER REQUIREMENTS

Electrostatic forces are applied directly to the particles and not the entire gas stream. Therefore, the horsepower requirement is approximately 50% of comparable wet systems and 25% of equivalent filter systems.

HIGH EFFICIENCY

Precipitators can meet practically any efficiency requirement, up to 99.99%. Also, efficiency is not dependent on particle size; applications are not limited to coarse particles as are gravitational and inertial methods nor by resistance to gas flow as are filter and scrubber systems.

LOW MAINTENANCE

All steel construction. No moving parts or components in contact with the gas stream.

MINIMUM COLLECTED DUST HANDLING PROBLEMS

No additional equipment required for treatment of collected dust. Completely dry system.

STANDARDIZATION OF PARTS

Discarding the costly custom built method, PPC has emphasized the "standard part" concept. This permits production line manufacturing and results in a much lower unit cost.

LOW INSTALLATION COSTS

PPC units are designed to minimize field erection time.

SHELL DESIGN

PPC units are designed with a completely smooth interior shell. This eliminates "dust traps" and subsequent corrosion and maintenance problems.

EXPANSION CAPABILITIES

The use of standard parts in conjunction with PPC modular principle offers unusual flexibility for expansion in meeting future plant requirements or increases in the air pollution code requirements.
